an image of a jellyfish on a blue background

Tommy Scott

Tommy Scott is an artist that plays with light, form, nature, shape, and texture to create something dreamy and timeless. Working in many different types of media such as film photography, alternative photography techniques (Cyanotypes and anthotypes), ceramics and fiber art; he thrives on the research and process of creating art. Tommy’s art process is to test, evolve, and adapt especially in the experimental alternative photography techniques where ultraviolet light is an ever changing factor when using the sun to create exposures. In his photography takes double exposures using film. Using the exposures like he does in his cyanotype and anthotype works; taking pictures of ornate pieces of glass and crystal dishes. Seeing how the light shining into the etched or carved dish designs will effect the next image taken overtop of it. In his ceramic works he manipulates the shape of flowers using underglaze into more lively black and white almost shadow flower figures. In his fiber artworks he creates latch hook designs that have fun shapes and color pallet.
